The Foundation Day of Friends of Mary was joyfully celebrated on September 8th at Holy Name Church, marking the formation of this dedicated association for women in the parish. The day coincided with the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, making the celebration spiritually meaningful and deeply Marian in spirit. Parishioners gathered to thank God for the growth of this women’s association and to seek continued blessings upon its mission and service.
“My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.” – Luke 1:46
The celebration began with a solemn Holy Mass offered for the members of the Friends of Mary association. During the homily, the faithful were reminded of the virtues of the Blessed Virgin Mary — humility, obedience, faith, and service — which the association seeks to imitate in its ministry within the parish community.
Following the Mass, a brief gathering was held to reflect on the journey and purpose of the association. The Friends of Mary aims to spiritually empower women, encourage active participation in parish life, and foster unity among families through prayer meetings, charitable initiatives, and parish support activities.
Members renewed their commitment to serve the Church with dedication and love. The parish priest blessed the association and encouraged them to continue being instruments of faith, compassion, and strength within Holy Name Church.
The Foundation Day concluded with fellowship and thanksgiving, leaving the community inspired by the example of Mary and strengthened in their shared mission of service.
